So best advice I can give is to ignore what the indicator is telling you and listen to what your common sense is telling you that your lure is doing. However, being a lifelong angler means I fully understand what my lure is doing at all times and depths ( regardless of type ), whereas non anglers who just play the game for fun may depend on that indicator. I simply ignore the indicator and continued fishing as normal, with no change to my catch rates.

I've looked at tips and even YouTube videos of people catching, where to fish, what bait to use, what length my leader should be etc etc. Crankbaits in particular seem to behave very strangely on the indicator with anything over a 6 foot crank apparently diving to the deck and staying there. I broke down and got the Sport Heavy Casting package but it only casts 100 feet. Should the lure go all the way down to the bottom? Stop and go and twitch all look very strange.

5 to spend on the best fishing game out there. That’s what really holds you back in the beginning as you just don’t have a lot room before you fill your basket. I thought I had improved my lure retrieves but Alberta is confusing me. I suggest you buy the 5 heavy cast dlc as it has 150lbs fish basket.
